Selling on Amazon
Do you have any used books or new items that are still in unopened boxes? Did you know that there are other avenues to sell your stuff besides eBay? You can have your own store or website hosted at an ISP but you can also leverage Amazon.com’s platform to sell your items.
Recently I wanted to sell some computer accessories that I had sitting around and didn’t want to create an eBay listing. I found the item listing on Amazon.com, clicked on the ‘Sell yours here’ button and then created a listing with my own price. The item was sold with relative little effort. The power of this feature is very useful to small businesses who want to have online presence without incurring too much cost. Of course, Amazon charges a fee for this service but I am glad that someone else is taking of the infrastructure details.
I like the way Amazon.com is monetizing its infrastructure with auxiliary services. Yes in some ways you are competing with them but without incurring the development costs for a similar infrastructure. Not a bad deal for a SMB to get started.
Making Great Decisions
I watched this video at Google Video quite some time back. The topic of this book has always intrigued me. The authors gave a presentation at Google on how we make decisions and how to improve our ability to make decisions. Time and again when I am swamped with information overload or when I am analysis-paralysis mode, I step back and ask my self what is the desired result and how to improve my decision making.
It is a fairly long video (about 1 hr) but I think the benefits of watching this video and reading the book will bring rewards throughout your life. I haven’t bought the book yet but will be buying it soon as soon as finish some other books on my bookshelf.
